Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

 Anne Hawley, 51, of Sacramento, has been appointed deputy appointments secretary in the Office of the Governor, where she has served as special assistant to the appointments secretary since 2015. She was a consultant for DeBoo Communications Inc. from 2014 to 2015 and president of the Crocker-Riverside Elementary School Parent Teacher Association from 2011 to 2014. Hawley was principal at Anne Hawley Design from 2006 to 2009 and a designer and librarian at RMW Architecture and Interiors from 1991 to 2001. She was a consultant to the U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Labor from 1997 to 1998 and served as director of scheduling at the White House from 1995 to 1997, where she was deputy director of scheduling from 1993 to 1995. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $106,620. Hawley is a Democrat.

Judith Maxwell Greig, 60, of Belmont, has been appointed to the California Student Aid Commission. Greig has been president at Notre Dame de Namur University since 2009, where she has held several positions since 1988, including provost, dean of the School of Education and Leadership and senior advisor to the president. She was adjunct faculty at San Jose State University from 1987 to 1988 and a teacher at the Old Orchard School from 1977 to 1984. Greig is a member of the Council of Independent Colleges Board of Directors and the California Campus Compact Executive Board. She earned a Master of Arts degree in reading education from Santa Clara University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in philosophy of education and a Master of Arts degree in philosophy from Stanford University. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Greig is registered without party preference.

Christian Rubalcava, 20, of Sylmar, has been appointed to the California Student Aid Commission. Rubalcava has been a student at California State University, Northridge since 2014, where he has been a lower-division senator and attorney general at the Associated Students Inc. since 2015 and a member of the Academic Grievances and Grade Appeals Committee since 2015. He is a member of the Sylmar Neighborhood Council. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Rubalcava is a Republican.

Jorge Reyes Salinas, 23, of Chatsworth, has been appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees. Reyes has been a student at California State University, Northridge since 2010 and an intern in the Office of California State Senator Bob Hertzberg since 2016. Salinas has been president of the California State University, Northridge Associated Students Inc. since 2015, where he was chief of staff from 2014 to 2015. He was an event assistant at the California State University, Northridge University Student Union from 2013 to 2014. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Reyes is a Democrat.

Eman Dalili, 20, of Palos Verdes Estates, has been appointed to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors. Dalili has been a student at El Camino Community College since 2014, where he has been student body president since 2016 and an ambassador in the Office of Outreach and School Relations since 2015. He is a business analyst intern at American Red Cross Blood Donation Services and was a member of the El Camino Community College District Board of Trustees from 2015 to 2016 and an intern in the Office of Congresswoman Janice Hahn from 2014 to 2015 and in the Office of California State Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi in 2014. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Dalili is a Democrat.

Gladys M. Mitchell, 58, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the California Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission. Mitchell served as a staff services manager at the California Department of Health Care Services from 2013 to 2014 and at the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs from 2010 to 2013 and from 2007 to 2009. She was a health program specialist at California Correctional Health Care Services from 2009 to 2010 and a staff mental health specialist at the California Department of Mental Health from 2006 to 2007. Mitchell served as a staff services manager and interim executive officer at the Dental Board of California from 1999 to 2005, where she was a budget officer from 1993 to 1996. She was interim executive officer at the California Board of Occupational Therapy in 2005 and an enforcement coordinator at the California Board of Registered Nursing from 1996 to 1998 and at the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners from 1989 to 1993. She is a member of the St. Hope Public School Board of Directors. Mitchell earned a Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Sacramento. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Mitchell is a Democrat.

Christopher Herren, 43, of Pacific Palisades, has been appointed to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board. Herren has been a public safety communications administrator at the City of Santa Monica Office of Emergency Management since 2014. He was dispatch services manager at the Placer County Sheriff’s Office from 2010 to 2014 and acting dispatch manager at the Elk Grove Police Department from 2008 to 2010, where he was dispatch supervisor from 2006 to 2008. Herren was communications operator at the Vallejo Police Department from 1995 to 2006. He is a member of the California Fire Chiefs Association, National Emergency Number Association and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Herren is registered without party preference.

Michael Miller, 53, of Bakersfield, has been appointed to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board. Miller has been deputy fire chief at the Kern County Fire Department since 2009, where he has held several positions since 1988, including deputy chief of operations, battalion chief of operations, battalion chief for training and safety, captain of training, recruit academy lead, captain of operations, engineer and firefighter. He was a reserve firefighter at the Bakersfield Fire Department from 1986 to 1988. Miller is a member of the National Emergency Number Association, Association of Public Safety Communications Officials, International Association of Fire Chiefs, California Fire Chiefs Association and Firefighting Resources of California Organized for Potential Emergencies. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Miller is a Republican.

Allyson Harris, 40, of Redding, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee on Before and After School Programs. Harris has been director at the Shasta County Office of Education since 2013, where she was area coordinator from 2011 to 2013. She was children’s program coordinator at Shasta Women’s Refuge from 2009 to 2010 and a program specialist at the Butte County Office of Education from 2008 to 2009. Harris was an after-school specialist for the Gateway Unified School District from 2004 to 2008. She is a member of the Association of California School Administrators. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Harris is registered without party preference.

Keith Hamm, 47, of McKinleyville, has been appointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board of Directors. Hamm has been a conservation planning manager at the Green Diamond Resource Company since 2011, where he was a terrestrial wildlife biologist from 1999 to 2011. He was a wildlife biologist at Eel River Sawmills from 1994 to 1998 and a wildlife technician at the Simpson Timber Company from 1989 to 1994. Hamm is a member of the Western Section of the Wildlife Society, California North Coast Chapter of the Wildlife Society, American Motorcyclist Association and the National Rifle Association. Kevin Shelton, 49, of Mariposa, has been appointed to the 35a District Agricultural Association, Mariposa County Fair and Homecoming Board of Directors. Shelton has been vice president of operations and marketing at the Yosemite Management Group since 1994. He is chairman of the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau, treasurer of the New Life Christian Fellowship and club leader of Mariposa Triangle 4-H. Shelton is a board member of Mariposa Future Farmers of America Boosters Club Board, Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation Board and the Mariposa Junior Livestock Auction Committee Board.
