Sacramento, California - Assemblymember V. Manuel Pérez released the following statement regarding Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr.’s May Budget Revise:
"I’ve not had a chance to read through the revise proposal carefully, but my initial take is that the Governor has given us a good starting point as we head into the home stretch of this process. His proposals to fund the teachers’ retirement system and for the rainy day fund build on frameworks advanced by Assembly Dems earlier this year. They are both important to help ensure our state’s long-term stability. My hope is that with this revised proposal, coupled with the projections we will get from the Legislative Analyst, we can continue to find ways to expand opportunities for all Californians, and I think we are on track for another on-time, balanced budget."
