Sacramento, California - Assemblyman V. Manuel Pérez is pleased to report that his economic development bill AB 250 was signed into law today by the Governor. AB 250, jointly authored by Pérez with Assemblyman Chris Holden of Pasadena, codifies the California Innovation Hub (iHub) Program within the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development.
“As California emerges from the recession, regional innovation and technology-based economies are increasingly the catalyst for business development and job creation,” said Pérez. “Codifying the I-Hub program at GO-Biz facilitates coordination of federal, state, and local innovation-supporting resources to spur economic development and our state’s recovery.”
Locally, the Coachella Valley I-Hub has established itself as a premier research center and technology incubator, fostering business development and job creation. Located within the geographic boundaries of the Cities of Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs and Cathedral City, its focus is entrepreneurship and clean technology development.
